The Hackathon “Restart for female digital starters”, part of the Erasmus+ Move It Forward+ project, took place on November 13th 2021 at the Technoport SA in Belval, Luxembourg.

Before the full-day Hackathon were organised 5 online webinars and workshops for participants to get support and know more about several topics linked to entrepreneurship and digital but also to get prepared for the Hackathon.

The first workshop was facilitated by Marina Andrieu, from WIDE regarding the topic of Business Model Canvas. Then, Apolline Weirich from WIDE presented and taught participants about WordPress. We were happy to welcome Fanny Bécue for an online session on Web user experience analysis: tips and tricks. Participants were able to receive some advice on Pitching their entrepreneurial idea or project. Finally, we ended this preparation by inviting the registered participants to a meet-up online for matchmaking after work for them to be able to present their projects/ideas, network and create teams!

From 9:00 to 18:30, about thirty participants and volunteer coaches worked together to develop the different ideas. Business Model Canvasmarket research or UX Design: the project leaders were able to benefit from the expertise and support of their peers to take their ideas to the next level.

At the end of this intense day, with sharing of experiences, three projects were rewarded.

  • Best pitch“Friendly Advice”, which aims to help students and newcomers solve their problems of settling in Luxembourg via law students who seek to gain legal experience by offering their advice.
  • Best innovative project“Femart Gallery” which is a web gallery platform where female artists can share and sell creations to increase their visibility in the digital world with non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
  • Best impact project“Childs Play”,  which aims to create a safe discussion platform among young children to educate them regarding the better use of social media.

Move it Forward+ is an Erasmus+ project to support women who want to be entrepreneurs. Indeed, women’s entrepreneurship has been hit hard by the pandemic and this collaborative event is an excellent opportunity to launch new business ideas in the context of economic recovery. Our partners currently organise three hackathons in France, Romania, Croatia and Lithuania, and a conference will be organised soon in Belgium.
