“Move It Forward Rijeka – sigurne i osnaŽENE”

Center of Technical Culture Rijeka invites you to the hackathon “Move It Forward Rijeka” – sigurne i osnaŽENE” intended for women of all age groups with the goal of their encouragement to engage in digital entrepreneurship. The event is for female participants, free of charge, does not imply previous knowledge of digital entrepreneurship and is directed toward building women’s skill sets and confidence to start digital start-up incubators and, finally, starting your own businesses in the digital domain entrepreneurship.

Move It Forward+, as a project of which the hackathon is a part, directly involves women in identifying social challenges that affect their communities and supports them in developing solutions for their welfare. Thus, there will be two key topics that reflect recent challenges,
violence against women in the virtual world and the reduction of menstrual poverty, i.e. greater availability of menstrual supplies and awareness of women’s needs during menstruation.
At this particular hackathon, the participants will be trained in relation to the given topic of creating a mobile application or building/launching your own website.
At the end of the workshop, the best ideas will be selected and prizes awarded for:

• The most innovative project – a project that reflects a digital/technical approach or solution;
• The most influential project – the project with the most ambitious vision and/or impact on society in solving the problem to which the event refers; and
• The overall best project – a project that shows an effective and complete combination of both previously mentioned elements

The results of the event are projects/business ideas that deal with social challenges with a social impact of local relevance. Support will be provided after the hackathons to the initiatives created with continuous monitoring of the projects by mentors and trainers.
